Description: So with two days to get to the thai border before our Lao visa ran out, it was a two day trip up the river. We tried to get the slow-boat up the river as it was miles cheaper ... we failed (it left at 8am!) Disparing at being stuck a guy suggested one of these flimsy, plywood arrows and mentioned instead of arriving at 6pm it would do the same trip by 1. (you see the slow-boat at 00:19) Absolutely no room, not enough helmets to go round, an engine that looked like they'd robbed it from someones car and simply bolted it on, it was noisy, uncomfortable, and by western standards, a death-trap ... my grin was still beaming at 6pm =D (apologies for embarassing you Roz =P ) |
