The game was played pretty even, until reality of who was the better team finally struck and it was in the vision of a blistering Arron Asham slap shot that made it 1-0. The Isles would have the first say and last say as Jason Blake wrister a bullet over Lundqvist to put the Isles ahead 2-0. I asked a fan tonight "what is better? A 6-2 win over the Rangers or a 2-0 shut out?" He said "SHUT OUT!" I have to agree, as an level headed human being would. Nothing says "you suck" like making the rival fans who dare to enter your building sit down the entire night. Ranger fans literally had nothing to say, and many of them decided to file out of the arena when it became 2-0 Isles. Could this Isles team sweep the Rangers in a season series? Never been done before, not even those legendary Isles dynasty teams of the 1980's were able to do it, but you never know. With this loss, the Rangers and their losing fans suffer their 6th straight defeat. It looks like Santa left the Blueshirts a huge piece of coal this Christmas, oh well, too bad.

Unfortunatley the Isles lost this game 2-1 in regulation, but what was worse and will probably be remembered the most was the vicious hit on Rangers winger Ryan Hollweg by Isles winger and enforcer Chris Simon. It's MY OPINION that Ryan Hollweg should've been called for a boarding call, as you can see in this video. This is my opinion and whomever would like to say that opinion is based on my team loyalty can kiss my ass. Hollweg button hooked around after he layed the late hit and made a sneering gesture to Simon, which Simon responded by using Hollweg's head as a baseball. I DO NOT condone what Simon did, there is a line that shouldn't be crossed and he did cross it. As much distain and dislike I have for the Rangers, I never want to see anyone have "at the least" their career's ended by a cheap shot. Simon most likely will be suspended for a while and it will be justified, and atleast from this Islander fan, I hope that this was the last time he ever dons our jersey. Say what you want about the NY Islanders as an organization, but this is not what the Islanders are all about and it isn't what hockey is all about.

Whenever I go to GM Place to see the Canucks, I constantly try to get a good picture of a goal, so I spend less time raising my arms when one happens and more time trying to get a picture.
