This 1991 report from the GAO (General Accounting Office under Bush #1) GAO confirms that a single-payer system could save enough in administrative waste ALONE to provide comprehensive coverage to all Americans.

He gives away his bias screaming about "entitlement programs we can't afford" but not a peep about 500 Billion (with a B) on military adventures that make us LESS safe. He's got a point about runaway med costs and competitiveness of US businesses, but refuses to consider what every western industrialized country has done to have universal AND affordable healthcare (even the GAO itself admits single payer would save, not cost, money) __________________________________________________ |

Yes it looks like you guys are in for some hard times. Sub-prime, massive deficits, demographic wave, oil and now "stimulous packages" that add to the problem. Good luck. If it gets too bad we're always looking for American ingenuity and entrepreneurialism here Oz, where your life savings wont just melt away. Pray it doesnt come to that though. __________________________________________________ |
