Love Janis and this is my favorite of hers. But boy compare this to Monterey. You can see the effect the substances had on her in just 2 years. A bit sad. Voice here as soulful as ever, but compared to '67 her voice seems pretty plasted. The fact that she could go from sweetness to the depths is what made B&C so powerful in Monterey. Not much sweetness in the voice in 69.

She makes me shiver all the times I listen to her. She is so intense.

If I go a while without listening to Janis music, then I go back to it, it is like discovering her all over again. You always find things that you didn't notice before. She was truly unique.

She may be stoned like a shrimp I don't fucking care she sounds great and some drugs never hurt you once in a while, no one should flame about her drug use, she did what she wanted to and that was her decision not someone elses, people are the way they are! JANIS IS PERFECT TO ME

She was a true artist. wow...I am in awe of her. She will live on in the hearts of her fans forever. RIP Janis Joplin. Damn I was born in the completely wrong time. I wish I had a time machine and could go to Woodstock 1969 and see this amazing woman, along with so many other greats, perform live, and be a part of the three days of peace, love and music!! =(

I'm surprised no one ever compliments her band members too. Their really talented too and I dig the guitarist's sound especially. But Janis is awesome.

we would not have whats left of our dieing rites on this earth had it not been for people like janis and cohen and cocker ect; we all need to get back to our spiritual ways if theres going to be any change or peace on earth.

We were a lost generation, fed up with hyprocrisy in religion, corruption in government and looking for love! All I found were rip offs selling bad drugs and bad dreams while the rest were just stealing! I sat on stage listening to Janis at La Rock Fest, you could feel her pain! I found my answers on my knees after several bad trips!
