at the end, when the guy is eating the chicken with the icecream he says he sees the color blue. Can he also taste what he is eating or does he only see the color?

color is determined by the frequency of the light (many times higher than frequencies of sound our ears percieve.) If the frequency of a given color, happens to be a harmonic (multiple) of the frequency of a sound, to a synesthetic, the sound-percieving part of the brain picks up on the harmonic frequency in the light/color, which then induces the corresponding sensation of sound for that particular color (frequency) of light.

I don't know if they have a 'term' for me, but I DO see sounds. Never realized it wasn't normal. Mostly, by closing my eyes I see different colors and sine waves depending on the sound/tone. They're magnified if I'm near sleep too.

That is so strange! I used to play insternments when I was in High school and every sound/tone/note/color had a shape! I just learned something new about myself!

You are so right, sound/colour synesthesia isn't that annoying, and isn't about spinning and zooming in on colour at all, it's something more graceful and beautiful than that! I'm not a sound/taste synesthesiate but imagine that combination could be quite intrusive on ones life, I read something about a man who heard the name Derek and tasted earwax at the same time.

I totally agree with you, about losing it, it would be awful. It's unique. I totally disagree with Thursday being turquoise though, it's alawys been dark/pomegranite orange to me! It's amazing how everybody's range of colours differ!!!

Indeed they do. In my case very word's colour is usually determined by the colours of the letters that make it up, for instance words beginning with the letter T are green as the letter T is green to me. It's not the sound of the word that triggers off the colour, but the colours of the letters that make up the word, a word beginning with a T followed by a H would start of green and turn orange as H is orange.
