Description:

The final boss of Psyvariar 2. This video is NOT by own doing; This is from a DVD my friend gave me loaded with shmup superplays. This is absolutely astounding, and since I can't find it anywhere on Youtube, I'm uploading it here for all to see. Whoever this guy is, he's fucking amazing.

Eh, it wasn't an official DVD. ^^;; He just took a few dozen videos from Psyvariar 1, 2, Einhander, and other shmups, (as well as a few thousand MAME games) and threw 'em on a DVD for me. However, if you go to the shmups dot com forums, you can find a shitload of superplays. (you don't have to sign up to browse the forums)

Amazing. The precision and timing these expert Psyvariar 2 players demonstrate is something else. I wish I could put on a performance like this guy! And the game is damned beautiful just by itself too (with killer music to boot). Thanks for uploading this, man!

No prob. It struck my attention when I noticed nobody else had uploaded it already, so I figured I might as well. Seeing this video is what got me into Psyvariar, and I can emulate a few of this guy's strategies, but I just don't have the mad skills necessary to no-miss this fucker. :/

Heh, same here. I can just about grasp what's going on, but I quickly lose control of the game. Psyvariar 2 plays so differently from most other shooters, it's practically in its own genre. I'm probably going to put some serious time on it once I 1CC Under Defeat's second loop. If I tried to excel at both I'd very quickly go insane, lol.

Heh, I'm still working on 1CCing ESPgaluda; I can reach the 2nd form of the final boss on one credit (after you take out Jakou's holy ghost machine and he takes to flight), on a good day... and I have to play Ikaruga once or twice a week to stay in practice. Personally, I still prefer Psyvariar Revision over Psyvariar 2. 2 just changed a lot of what I liked about Revision, including stage select, versatile usage of bombs, and real-time form-changing from levelling up.

ESPGaluda's another one on my to-play list (being unable to play NTSCJ stuff atm doesn't help). I'm in the same situation as you for ESPRade's last boss, actually. I can reach Ms. Gara's last forms on a credit, but I always drop my credit there. I'd love to try the original Psyvariar (especially Complete). I noticed, there seemed to be more bullets in the stages themselves (Colony vid) compared to Psyvariar 2. The music rocks too, this series is awesome for that.

Oh hell yeah, I love the music. While on the subject, I found Medium Unit to be fun, but after playing Revision, there was no going back, heh. The ability to graze with the same bullet once, among other things, has spoiled me. ^^; Btw, the PS2 version of Psyvariar 2 is actually a bit better. There's a bug fix (no more getting killed after the boss dies), and the inclusion of a 'rolling' button assigned to the triggers. Cruise control for buzzing, baby!

Awesome, I picked up P2: Ultimate Final for PS2 a while back (although I've been playing the DC Psyvariar 2... stupid region lockouts) Got to get an NTSCJ PS2 at some point.

True! Another way for us western shooter fans to play stuff we're not meant to (LOL). These days I find jumping through hoops to play my shooters way more trying than anything the games themselves throw at me.
